Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and compassionately to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality nursing interventions including medication administration and wound care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EMR to maintain continuity
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Maintain unit readiness, ensure equipment availability, and follow safety protocols
• Respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment and urgency
• Support a positive team environment by communicating clearly and professionally

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to work in California or via compact privileges)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ER) nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI (required)
• Proven ability to manage high-acuity patients and maintain composure in fast-paced settings
• Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to changing ED census and acuity

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing clinical skills including triage and rapid assessment
• Experience with EMR systems (MEDITECH knowledge a plus)
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication skills
• Familiarity with unit policies, infection control, and patient safety practices
• Teamwork mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines
