Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ conditions to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Document patient care and communicate changes clearly in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate treatment plans
- Provide patient and family education to promote recovery and self-care
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergency situations with calm and competence
- Follow facility protocols and champion patient safety and infection control
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Maryland or eligibility under compact licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
- Clinical experience caring for adult patients preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in medication administration and patient assessment
- Experience with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Skilled in IV therapy, wound care, and post-operative monitoring as applicable
- Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and time management abilities
- Compassionate patient- and family-centered communication
