Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients promptly to determine severity and needed interventions
• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care, including trauma and acute treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and the care team to develop and execute treatment plans
• Perform timely documentation and maintain accurate patient records
• Maintain and demonstrate competency in emergency procedures and life support
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license (Compact allowed) — must be uploaded and active
• 2+ years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience in a hospital setting (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS required
• Active PALS (AHA) required
• Active TNCC required
• Travel nursing experience preferred (3 months minimum preferred)
• Bachelor degree preferred
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required
• All certifications must be in hand and uploaded to be considered
• Traveler must have their own vehicle
• Permanent address and any requested time-off (RTO) must be included in profile at submission

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing and triage expertise
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for acute presentations
• Trauma care fundamentals and rapid stabilization techniques
• Proficient in EKG interpretation, IV therapy, medication administration, and procedures common to the ED
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Reliable documentation and time management skills
• Comfort working across a 24/7 emergency department environment
