Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac ablation and conduction studies, keeping patient safety front and center
- Manage pacemaker and AICD care including insertion support, programming assistance, and lead extraction/removal when needed
- Support Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure and Watchman procedures with precise peri-procedural care
- Obtain and interpret 12‑lead ECGs and recognize dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
- Administer and monitor antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics under established protocols
- Deliver clear, compassionate patient education on lifestyle, medications, and device follow-up to empower recovery and adherence
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication across the team
- Collaborate with cardiologists, techs, and interdisciplinary staff on quality improvement initiatives and best practices
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — ready to practice in the Seattle area
- Minimum 2 years EP Lab or outpatient cardiology clinic experience required
- Prior experience with EP procedures, pacemaker/AICD management, or cardiac mapping/ablation strongly preferred
- EPIC charting experience is required — accurate electronic documentation is a must
- BLS required; ACLS and specialty EP certifications a plus
- Comfort floating to related units within your skillset as needed
- First-time travelers accepted — all experience levels considered if EP background is met
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- BLS required; ACLS and specialty EP certifications a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Electrophysiology procedures: cardiac ablation, arrhythmia induction, conduction studies
- Cardiac mapping and cardioversion techniques
- Pacemaker and defibrillator (AICD) insertion, programming, and lead extraction concepts
- Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure and Watchman procedural familiarity
- 12‑lead ECG acquisition and interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition
- Medication management for antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics
- Strong patient education skills focused on lifestyle modification and medication adherence
- Experience using EPIC for charting and care coordination
- Participation in quality improvement and risk reduction efforts
