Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Take and record vital signs and basic health information accurately
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection-control practices
• Collaborate with nursing team and participate in shift handoffs and documentation

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Familiarity with basic vital signs, ADLs, and mobility assistance
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety standards
• Ability to document care accurately and communicate observations
• Teamwork, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
