Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (as-needed), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Take and record vital signs and basic health information accurately
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection-control practices
- Collaborate with nursing team and participate in shift handoffs and documentation
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Familiarity with basic vital signs, ADLs, and mobility assistance
- Understanding of infection control and patient safety standards
- Ability to document care accurately and communicate observations
- Teamwork, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
