Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and stabilize emergency patients using sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy and state practice acts
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately to support continuity and quality
• Develop and implement individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with the care team
• Provide patient and family education to improve outcomes and support informed decisions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide clinical guidance to other units when needed
• Participate in unit performance improvement, shared governance, and peer review activities
• Escalate patient safety concerns promptly and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN licensure required
• RN education verification required (proof of graduation from an accredited nursing program)
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS required (one or the other)
• Experience in Emergency Room nursing preferred; comfortable with fast-paced acuity
• Willingness to work day shifts and participate in weekend rotation

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN education verification required

• Patient assessment and rapid clinical decision-making in emergency settings
• Medication administration and safe treatment delivery
• Accurate nursing documentation and care planning
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication
• Patient and family education with a compassionate approach
• Critical thinking focused on patient safety and experience
• Experience with shared governance, unit performance improvement, and peer review
