Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients on a specialized Visual Monitor Unit
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to cardiac rhythm changes
• Collaborate with behavioral health techs and security to ensure patient safety
• Administer medications and perform essential nursing skills including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Support patients with both medical and secondary psychiatric needs in a respectful, patient-centered manner
• Float to ED psych holds or MedSurg floors as needed to support hospital-wide care
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR and maintain compliance with all safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility with 600+ beds
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
• Must successfully complete SIMs Lab skills assessment on day one of orientation
• Clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle for travel teams
• Professional appearance: natural hair color, no facial piercings, clean-shaven for men

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Comfort working with patients who have behavioral health needs
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
• Ability to maintain sterile field during procedures
• Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to float as needed
