Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
• Assist with meal service and ensure patients' nutritional needs are met
• Promote patient comfort, dignity, and independence while following care plans
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to support outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico) or eligibility to obtain
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings per policy
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude toward patients and families
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work per diem shifts as scheduled

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and safety protocols
• Familiarity with infection control and patient hygiene procedures
• Accurate vital sign measurement and reporting
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Compassion, patience, and de-escalation techniques for resident-centered care
