Surgical Tech - CST

Location: Kearney, Nebraska

Start Date: 05-31-2026

End Date: 08-30-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start, 8-hour or 10-hour shifts with one weeknight call until 7:00 AM next morning and three 24-hour weekend call shifts per month

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub independently for cranial procedures and neuro-trauma cases
Assist with total joint replacements and orthopedic trauma surgeries
Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment is ready for each case
Collaborate with surgeons and the care team to maintain patient safety
Handle a fast-paced caseload that includes orthopedics, urology, ENT, and neurosurgery
Respond to call within 15 minutes when scheduled for weeknight or weekend coverage

Qualifications

Current CST certification preferred but not required
BLS certification required
Proven experience scrubbing orthopedic trauma and total joint procedures
Ability to perform cranial procedures independently
Comfortable taking neuro-trauma call and working in a Level II trauma setting
Strong work ethic and willingness to speak up for patient safety

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in orthopedic trauma and total joint procedures
Competence with cranial and neuro-trauma cases
Familiarity with DaVinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis systems
Solid general OR experience across multiple specialties
Ability to hustle in a fast-paced environment while staying positive
