Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to incarcerated individuals with dignity and respect
• Perform thorough patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of medical conditions
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health staff, and correctional officers to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Uphold infection control, safety, and security procedures within the facility

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in Med Surg, ER, ICU, or Telemetry
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to pass an extensive background check and clearance process
• Willingness to work in a secure correctional environment with professionalism and adaptability

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and clinical monitoring
• Experienced with medication administration and treatment protocols
• Comfortable responding to medical emergencies and stabilizing patients
• Familiar with infection control practices and facility safety/security procedures
• Strong documentation practices and regulatory compliance awareness
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
