Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to older adults and promote dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident responses, documenting changes accurately
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and the care team about resident needs
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Help create a positive daily experience through friendly interaction and engagement

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care residents is a plus
• Ability to pass background and health screenings per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance techniques
• Familiarity with basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable with mobility assistance and safe transfer practices
• Good observational skills to recognize changes in resident condition
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with older adults
