Speech-Language Pathologist - LTC/SNF
Location: Buffalo, MO
Start Date: 04-05-2026
End Date: 07-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shift (start between 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM; times flexible but must be consistent and communicated with DOR)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders using evidence-based interventions
- Develop and maintain individualized plans of care that meet regulatory and clinical practice standards
- Utilize standardized assessments to inform treatment planning and measure outcomes
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments accordingly, and document changes in the electronic record
- Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate patient records per company policy
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families and caregivers to support functional goals
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members about progress, barriers and plans
- Accurately record treatment minutes and ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements
- Obtain necessary DME or supplies and coordinate referrals when indicated
- Supervise and support CFY and student SLPs, fostering a learning environment
Qualifications
- Active ASHA CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) — required
- Missouri state licensure for Speech-Language Pathology — required (Compact allowed)
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience; new graduates accepted with Level II experience (not Level I observation only)
- LTC/SNF experience — required
- Ability to supervise CFY and student SLPs
- Comfortable with electronic documentation systems/EHR and productivity expectations
- Strong interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary communication and family counseling
- Preferred: CCS with 3 years of experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
- Skilled in rehabilitation and treatment planning for communication and swallowing disorders
- Experience documenting treatment minutes, discharge summaries, and regulatory documentation
- Ability to assess progress and modify treatment plans appropriately
- DME procurement knowledge and experience
- Experience delivering group therapy and managing caseload productivity
- Strong counseling and caregiver education skills
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and participation in care conferences
