Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours guaranteed; weekend and on-call schedule determined by facility

Hours per Week: 60

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, family-centered care to mothers and newborns in a Mother Baby unit
Perform clinical monitoring and assessments to ensure patient safety and recovery
Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn feeding, and discharge planning
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Serve as a charge nurse to oversee patient flow and unit productivity when competent
Precept and mentor new nursing staff to foster professional growth

Qualifications

2+ years of recent Mother Baby experience required
Comfortable with a 1:8 patient ratio
Previous travel experience required
Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
Willing to obtain NIHSS and NRP within 48 hours of offer
COVID vaccine required (declinations not accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical monitoring and patient assessment
Patient education and discharge planning
Charge nurse experience preferred
Precepting and mentoring abilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
