Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with compassion and attention to dignity and comfort
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent injury and promote healing
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care and patient observations
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver plan-driven care

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (New Mexico or transferable) in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care settings a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient hygiene
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Basic charting and documentation skills; eagerness to learn electronic charting
• Team-oriented mindset and the ability to follow care plans reliably
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and staff
