Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse MedSurg, Ortho, and Telemetry patient population
Manage a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio while balancing admissions, discharges, and ongoing care needs
Titrate and monitor Heparin, Lidocaine, and Ketamine drips with precision and attention to detail
Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs to deliver seamless, team-based care
Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to patient needs to enhance safety and satisfaction
Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed to support hospital-wide patient flow

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact license
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Minimum one year of recent MedSurg, Ortho, or Telemetry experience
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90 percent
Willingness to comply with the facility's no artificial nails policy in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Strong telemetry interpretation and awareness
Experience with PCA pumps and titratable drips
Ability to manage high patient turnover days with multiple admissions and discharges
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Cultural sensitivity when caring for diverse patient populations
