Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 05-31-2026
End Date: 08-30-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
- Develop personalized treatment plans for patients recovering from TKA, THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and general medical conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in acute inpatient settings
- Document patient progress and adjust interventions to support recovery goals
- Mentor and guide patients through rehabilitation journeys from admission through discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active California PT license required
- BLS certification required
- Acute Inpatient PT experience required
- Strong clinical skills in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in acute inpatient physical therapy across diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads while maintaining quality care standards
- Proficiency in treating post-surgical orthopedic and stroke recovery patients
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams
