Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal comfort
• Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and routine observations accurately
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes to the care team
• Support infection prevention and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers
• Deliver respectful, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Comfort working overnight shifts and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and bedside patient care
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Infection control best practices and adherence to facility protocols
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients, families, and staff
• Time management, teamwork, and observational skills to spot changes in condition
