Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist geriatric residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment when needed
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Record vital signs and daily observations accurately and timely
• Follow individualized care plans and facility protocols to promote resident well being
• Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful and comforting environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and following care plans
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to meet facility screening and immunization requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care practices and dignity-centered care
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Accurate charting and recordkeeping
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
