Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, direct nursing care to psychiatric inpatients, championing patient safety and dignity
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans
• Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed recovery principles
• Perform accurate EMR documentation to support continuity of care and clinical decision-making
• Act as charge nurse when assigned—lead the team calmly and confidently
• Float between units as needed to meet patient care demands and support staffing flexibility
• Use de-escalation and restraint-reduction techniques to manage crisis situations safely
• Coach, delegate, and support colleagues to build a strong, empowered team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts (required)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience (required)
• CPR certification (required)
• BSN preferred
• Experience with psychiatric/substance use inpatient care preferred
• Restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention experience preferred
• Comfortable floating between units and able to assume charge nurse responsibilities
• Proficient typing and computer skills to use Electronic Medical Records effectively

Education

• Active RN license in Massachusetts required
• BSN preferred

• Psychiatric nursing practices and therapeutic patient relationships
• Trauma-informed care and the Trauma Informed Recovery model
• Crisis management and behavioral de-escalation techniques
• Behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities
• EMR documentation best practices
