Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT and X-ray examinations while ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Operate and troubleshoot CT and radiography equipment following manufacturer and facility guidelines
- Position patients accurately and employ appropriate imaging techniques to capture diagnostic images
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure timely imaging and clear communication of results
- Maintain accurate patient records and image documentation in PACS and electronic medical records
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols at all times
- Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience performing CT and X-ray exams (experience with both modalities required)
- State radiologic technologist license or equivalent (must be valid for Illinois or eligible for Illinois licensure)
- ARRT registration in Radiography or CT preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages
- Ability to work independently in a small critical access hospital setting
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiography program graduate, or equivalent education
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of CT and digital radiography equipment and safety procedures
- Familiarity with PACS, DICOM workflows, and electronic medical record systems
- Strong patient positioning and anatomy knowledge for diagnostic imaging
- Good clinical judgment, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to follow protocols and adapt to a smaller hospital environment
