Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the assigned shift
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns to the care team promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective discharge planning and transitions
• Perform thorough assessments and maintain clear, timely charting to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and self-care needs
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN license for the state of New Mexico (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) a plus
• Comfort with 12+ hour night shifts and ability to manage a varied patient acuity
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
• Prior acute care or rehabilitation experience preferred but motivated new grads are welcome to apply

Education

• LPN: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medication administration and IV care practices
• Patient assessment and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Empathy, teamwork, and effective verbal/written communication
