Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer and document prescribed medications accurately and safely
• Start IVs, insert catheters, and perform wound care with attention to patient comfort
• Continuously monitor patient vital signs and clinical status and act on changes
• Operate and interpret readings from specialized medical equipment and record measurements
• Report adverse reactions and escalate concerns to the care team in a timely manner
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clear communication with families and providers
• Maintain thorough and timely charting to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred where applicable
• Comfortable working med-surg patient assignments with a typical ratio of 1:5
• Experience with medication administration, IV starts, catheter insertion, and wound care preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Willingness to work nights and fulfill the scheduled weekend rotations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of an accredited nursing program and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration best practices and documentation
• IV starts and catheter insertion techniques
• Wound care dressing changes and assessment
• Patient monitoring and vital signs interpretation
• Use and interpretation of common medical equipment used on a med-surg unit
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy 14-bed med-surg environment
