Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients efficiently and compassionately, ensuring comfort and clear communication
- Obtain vital signs, height/weight, pulse oximetry and perform 12-lead EKGs
- Prepare charts and assist with inbasket work to keep providers on track
- Perform telephone triage and document clinical concerns according to protocol
- Complete authorization forms and insurance verifications to support patient care
- Handle pharmacy calls and refill requests with accuracy and follow-up
- Document thoroughly in EPIC, maintaining chart quality and compliance
- Float to nearby satellite clinics (Bellevue, Ballard, Edmonds, Redmond) as needed, with prior notice
Qualifications
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant (cardiology preferred, primary care acceptable)
- MA-C preferred; MA-R or RMA will be considered
- EPIC experience required for charting
- Reliable personal transportation required (public transit is not sufficient)
- Willingness to float within scope to other clinics when scheduled
- Open to temp-to-perm conversion if you are a non-local candidate and willing to relocate
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (MA-C preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC charting and inbasket workflows
- Skilled at obtaining vital signs and performing 12-lead EKGs
- Comfortable with telephone triage and patient communication
- Knowledgeable about authorization forms and insurance verification processes
- Experienced handling pharmacy refill requests and documentation
- Familiar with adult and geriatric outpatient cardiology workflows
- Organized chart preparation and time management in a busy clinic
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary clinic staff
