Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility policies
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to the interdisciplinary team promptly
- Document care and observations clearly to support continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to create personalized care plans
- Assist with ADLs and promote resident dignity, independence, and comfort
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse license required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
- Comfortable working night shift hours and collaborating with an established team
- Strong communication skills and a resident-centered approach
- Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience preferred but new grads with clinical confidence encouraged to apply
Education
- LPN: Practical nursing diploma or certificate from an accredited program
- RN alternative: Associate degree in Nursing or BSN if pursuing RN role
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Vital sign assessment and basic clinical observation
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Resident-focused care planning and ADL assistance
- Team collaboration and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
- Time management and prioritization during shift work
