Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure all instruments are ready for OB cases
• Assist surgeons during cesarean sections and other obstetrical procedures with focus and precision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts to ensure patient safety
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to support smooth procedures
• Follow facility OR protocols and contribute to a safe, patient-centered environment
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists as required
• Maintain required health documentation and participate in mandated screenings and fit testing

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required — Certified Techs only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Current license/certification verification as part of credentialing
• Willingness to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings including drug screen, immunizations, and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR aseptic practices
• Familiarity with obstetrical surgical instrumentation and cesarean procedure flow
• Efficient instrument handling, setup, turnover, and intraoperative support
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Attention to detail for counts, documentation, and patient safety protocols
