Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living to support dignity and independence
• Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and promote comfort
• Follow individualized care plans and accurately document resident interactions
• Support mealtime, toileting, hygiene, and grooming with respect and patience
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the care team to enhance continuity of care
• Contribute to a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in team huddles and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state-required credential) — your primary ticket in
• Prior experience caring for older adults preferred, but a compassionate attitude is essential
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet required health screenings/vaccinations
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant / nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with providing hands-on geriatric care and supporting ADLs
• Proficiency with basic vital signs and observational reporting
• Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety measures
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize resident needs
• Team-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills
