Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients across the adolescent, adult and geriatric lifespan to create meaningful, individualized treatment plans
- Develop and implement home exercise programs and adaptive equipment recommendations that help patients regain independence
- Deliver skilled outpatient occupational therapy interventions including splinting, wheelchair evaluation/positioning, and manual modalities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (including Physical Therapy) to coordinate care, discharge planning, and continuity across settings
- Document assessments, plans of care, reassessments and discharges thoroughly in Epic to support quality outcomes
- Educate patients and families on safety, injury prevention, and functional strategies that improve everyday life
- Float between Acute Rehab and other inpatient floors as needed, maintaining flexibility and strong clinical judgment
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapy license (required; pending licenses are not accepted)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience preferred (job data indicates 2 years)
- Experience with outpatient care, splinting, adaptive equipment assessment and wheelchair evaluation & positioning
- Proficiency with Epic charting (preferred/used at facility)
- Comfort working with adolescents, adults and geriatrics and a mix of diagnoses including hand injury, neuro disorders, orthopedics and post-op patients
- Ability to work one weekend day (typically Sunday) every other weekend and participate in a 40-hour orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled splinting (dynamic and functional) and use of modalities such as ultrasound
- Adaptive equipment assessment for pediatric and adult patients
- Home exercise program development and patient/family education
- Wheelchair evaluation and positioning expertise
- Strong evaluation, plan of care, reassessment and discharge documentation skills
- Familiarity with hand clinic practices and outpatient workflows
- Ability to manage caseloads in Epic and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
