Candidate Pay Rate: $49.58 - $34.71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collection with confidence and compassion, especially for pediatric patients
- Label and process specimens accurately to protect sample integrity and patient safety
- Explain procedures clearly and gently to patients and caregivers to ease anxiety
- Maintain organized records and document specimen collection in the electronic medical record
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and proper chain-of-custody procedures
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies; report issues promptly
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinic staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely results
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by being punctual, professional, and kind
Qualifications
- Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure (required)
- Phlebotomy Certification and experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting as a CPT; pediatrics experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bilingual (English/Arabic/Chaldean) preferred but not required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and specimen handling
- Comfortable working with pediatric patients and their families
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for accurate draws and labeling
- Knowledge of infection control, PPE, and lab safety procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Excellent communication and bedside manner to reassure patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy outpatient health center
