Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care during night shifts, monitoring vitals and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the patient record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Perform assessments, communicate findings to providers, and escalate concerns promptly
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently to keep patient flow smooth
• Educate patients and families with clear, respectful instructions to promote recovery and safety
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with facility policies and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license — state-appropriate licensure required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
• Per diem clinical experience or prior bedside nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift
• Reliable, professional, and committed to patient-centered care

Education

• Completion of an accredited practical nursing or registered nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of nursing fundamentals, medication administration, and basic assessment skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Clinical judgment to recognize and escalate changes in patient status
• Teamwork and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
