Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management and ventilator support for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators including PB 980, PB 840 and V60
• Perform transports using ParaPac Transport Vent and ensure safe patient handoffs
• Deliver acute respiratory care interventions and emergency CPR when needed
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory plans of care
• Accurately document care using computerized charting and manage medications via Pyxis
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• State of Hawaii respiratory therapist license required by start; applications submitted prior to start are accepted
• BLS and ACLS current and required
• PALS with NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal populations
• Comfortable with ventilator management, airway management and emergency response procedures

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation
• Strong airway management and CPR skills
• Experience with PB 980, PB 840, V60 and ParaPac Transport Vent
• Familiarity with computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication management
• Ability to consult effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Skill in caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients across acuity levels
