Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to patients in the Mental Health unit
• Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, mobility and positioning
• Monitor patient condition and behavior; report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
• Support a safe, respectful environment while following facility policies and procedures
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification required
• Experience or interest in Mental Health care preferred
• Medical Assistant (MA) credential is a plus
• Available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Willingness to complete the two-week orientation

Education

• CNA certification (state-required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational patient care skills typical of CNA practice
• Comfort working with adults in a Mental Health setting
• Strong observation and reporting skills for clinical changes
• Clear, compassionate communication and teamwork
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to work professionally in a secure correctional healthcare environment
