Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents as a trusted Certified Nursing Assistant
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs and report clinically relevant changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and promptly in the facility’s charting system
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — state certification or eligibility required
- Active registry/status per state requirements or ability to obtain prior to start
- Comfortable working night shifts (Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care, ADLs, and resident comfort measures
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Familiarity with infection prevention and standard precautions
- Comfortable using electronic charting systems and following documentation standards
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal communication
