Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform general radiography and portable X-rays across ED and inpatient settings with accuracy and compassion
- Operate C-arm equipment and support OR imaging for orthopaedic and spine procedures
- Respond to Level 1 trauma activations and provide timely, high-quality imaging under pressure
- Use Epic and Fuji/Carestream PACS for charting and image management to ensure seamless patient records
- Collaborate with radiologists, PAs and the care team to optimize imaging workflow and patient outcomes
- Maintain radiation safety practices and ensure the use of an agency-provided radiation badge at all times
- Provide equipment overview and participate in department orientation to stay current with protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Radiologic Technologist — ARRT (required)
- BLS (AHA) current (required)
- Minimum 2 years of radiography experience, including trauma and OR imaging
- Comfortable and experienced with C-arm operation and intraoperative support
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled; reliable attendance for orientation week
- Must submit driver’s license and be within a 60-mile radius as requested by the facility
- Agency must provide candidate’s radiation badge — facility will not issue one
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT certification (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
- BLS (AHA)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of general radiography and portable X-ray techniques
- Experience with Epic charting and Fuji/Carestream PACS workflow
- Familiarity with GE C-arms, Shimadzu portables and GE/Fuji general rad rooms
- Trauma imaging protocols and ability to perform under emergent conditions
- Patient positioning, image acquisition and quality control for OR and ortho cases
- Good communication skills for interacting with surgeons, radiologists and multidisciplinary teams
