Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support for patients of all ages with confidence and vigilance
• Provide critical care interventions in the ICU setting, including assessment and rapid intervention for changes in respiratory status
• Deliver neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, supporting Level 2 NICU patients with specialized techniques
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and interpret findings to guide care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in quality improvement efforts
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment as appropriate

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required (CRT not considered)
• Valid Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license (DORA-RT) in good standing
• Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program (program completion required by licensure rules)
• Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP — all required
• Proven critical care and ventilator experience
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory experience, including Level 2 NICU care

Education

• Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program (as required for RRT credential and Colorado licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and advanced respiratory modalities
• Strong critical care assessment and intervention skills
• Familiarity with Level 2 NICU protocols and neonatal respiratory support
• Ability to perform and interpret cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures
• Clear clinical judgment under pressure and excellent teamwork/communication
• Comfort working nights and managing workload independently during shifts
