Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory therapy and ventilator management for patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Deliver specialized neonatal and pediatric respiratory care in a Level 2 NICU setting
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and interpret results to guide care
• Collaborate closely with nurses, neonatologists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow facility policies and protocols
• Demonstrate and promote infection control practices (flu vaccine required during Oct–Mar)

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required (CRT not considered)
• Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license (DORA-RT) in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications — all required
• Neonatal and pediatric experience, including Level 2 NICU experience
• Strong critical care and ventilator management skills
• Proof of flu vaccine (required October through March)
• Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program as required for licensure

Education

• Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program (required for licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Critical care principles and bedside assessment of complex patients
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including Level 2 NICU competencies
• Cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and interpretation
• Ability to manage a broad range of acuities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Clear clinical communication and teamwork skills
