Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 nights per week (specific days vary; schedule may include weekends as required by contract)

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients and newborns
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to support safe labor management
- Assist as scrub or circulate during cesarean sections and support post-op recovery
- Care for neonates including newborn assessments and basic neonatal care (NRP skills required)
- Chart thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure clear communication across the care team
- Float to Mother/Baby/Postpartum units as needed and provide seamless handoffs
- Precept and mentor colleagues when called upon, sharing expertise in L&D best practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB, anesthesia, NICU, pharmacy, respiratory) to coordinate care for high- and low-risk patients
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (California) — pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience (with labor & delivery / mother-baby experience preferred)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NRP; AWHONN Advanced required as a hardstop (C‑EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
- Demonstrated skills in fetal monitoring (C‑EFM), cesarean assistance (scrub/circulate), and newborn care
- Ability to float to mother/baby/postpartum and adapt to variable patient acuity
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a busy labor and delivery unit
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred (or equivalent nursing education and active RN licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor and Delivery management and best practices
- Continuous fetal monitoring and non-stress testing (NST)
- Cesarean section assistance (scrub and circulate) and post-op care
- Neonatal resuscitation and newborn care (NRP)
- Epic charting proficiency for documentation and interdisciplinary communication
- Ability to precept and teach newer staff with patience and clarity
- Telemetry/cardiac monitoring interpretation
- Baby-Friendly experience and postpartum/newborn support
