Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to older adults, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions accurately
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families and the care team
- Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection control practices
- Document care and observations promptly and accurately in resident records
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or state equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and TB screening
- Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments; prior experience is a plus (1+ year preferred)
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification or state equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Able to take and record vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans
