Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and kindness
• Provide safe, compassionate direct care to geriatric residents and support their comfort
• Monitor and record basic vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Document care and observations in residents’ records to support the care team
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents and their families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control best practices

Qualifications

• GNA classification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — listed as the job class
• CNA or equivalent certification preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• GNA/CNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Compassionate resident-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
• Comfort with assisting with ADLs and basic mobility support
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Good communication and teamwork within a care setting
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Reliable time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
