Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws with care and professionalism
• Collect, label, and prepare specimens according to protocol to ensure reliable test results
• Maintain clear communication with patients to reduce anxiety and create a positive experience
• Follow infection control and specimen handling procedures to protect patients and coworkers
• Document procedures and specimen tracking in the facility system promptly and accurately
• Support the clinical team by managing phlebotomy workflow and assisting with specimen logistics

Qualifications

• Current phlebotomy certification (or equivalent) — show us your skills and credentials
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM reliably
• Comfortable performing venipuncture on a diverse patient population with compassion and confidence
• Willingness to complete a 2-week orientation and any facility onboarding requirements
• Pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations as per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred or willingness to obtain

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
• Familiarity with specimen labeling, chain-of-custody, and proper transport procedures
• Basic familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, and specimen handling safety
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
