Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
- Provide safe, compassionate bedside care during the night shift and promptly report changes
- Support bathing, mobility assistance and transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Document care and observations accurately in resident records
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to the nursing team
- Promote a calm, safe environment and observe infection control practices
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working the night shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and resident-centered care
- Strong observation and documentation skills
- Infection prevention and safety-minded approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassion, patience, and respect for older adults
