Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Provide respectful companionship and emotional support to promote resident wellbeing
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment and ensure basic safety measures
• Accurately document care provided and follow facility policies and care plans
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
• State-required nursing assistant certification or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or available upon hire
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and those with cognitive or mobility impairments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a collaborative team
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and families
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
