Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and assessment to acutely ill patients
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, including Servo I and Hamilton ventilators
• Perform and interpret ABGs and deliver effective airway clearance via CPT, CPAP and BIPAP
• Initiate and adjust ventilator settings in collaboration with the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document all care accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate patient-centered care
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in trauma response when needed
• Contribute to unit quality improvement and best practice initiatives

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Meditech EMR experience preferred by the director
• Trauma experience is a plus and will be considered favorably

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator modes
• ABG analysis and respiratory assessment
• Airway clearance techniques including CPT, CPAP and BIPAP
• Familiarity with Servo I, Hamilton ventilators, V60 and Astral devices
• Proficient use of Meditech EMR for documentation
• Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and patient-focused communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-acuity environment
