Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for a 32-bed unit, maintaining patient safety and dignity
• Monitor cardiac status using Phillips cardiac monitors and respond to changes in condition
• Administer and manage medications and IV therapies, including heparin drips, with accuracy and clinical judgment
• Manage respiratory support such as stable BiPAP and mid/flow therapies
• Perform efficient admissions, discharges and patient turnover in a fast-paced environment
• Document care thoroughly in Meditech 6.0 to ensure clear communication across the team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, nursing leadership and physicians to optimize patient outcomes
• Model HCAHPS-focused behaviors and help maintain excellent patient experience scores

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (per job posting)
• BLS certification required (ACLS is NOT required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with comfort managing cardiac monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech 6.0 or similar EMR preferred
• Willingness to work weekends as assigned and manage high admission/discharge turnover
• Reliable attendance record (position specifies no history of attendance concerns)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical nursing best practices and patient assessment
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation using Phillips monitors
• Management of BiPAP and respiratory support for stable patients
• Safe administration and titration of IV drips including heparin
• Proficiency with Meditech 6.0 electronic medical record
• Strong teamwork, communication and HCAHPS awareness
• Stepdown experience and ability to care for stable COVID-19 patients
