Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living — bathing, feeding, grooming and mobility support
- Perform accurate vital signs and document findings in Epic to keep the care team informed
- Conduct glucose point-of-care testing and report results promptly
- Execute safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
- Monitor oxygen equipment and pulse oximetry to support patients with respiratory needs
- Follow strict infection control practices, including donning/removing PPE and isolation precautions
- Observe and report changes in patient condition clearly and promptly to the nursing team
- Support pressure injury prevention, toileting care, and other bedside nursing care that improves patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active CNA license in Oregon (license in-hand preferred)
- Approximately 0.8 years of direct patient care experience (as listed)
- Experience or comfort charting in Epic (charting system required)
- BLS certification preferred
- Comfort working in an acute care/short-term acute care setting and with census around 44
- Ability to manage 1:7 CNA daytime ratios and support interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of activities of daily living and bedside care
- Proficient in obtaining and interpreting vital signs (including orthostatic measurements)
- Skilled with glucose point-of-care testing
- Familiarity with oxygen tanks, pulse oximetry, and basic respiratory support
- Infection control best practices, including proper PPE use and isolation precautions
- Safe patient transfer techniques and pressure injury prevention
- Clear, timely reporting and documentation skills in Epic
