Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, rotating weekends (day shift times listed; unit also staffs 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM night rotation)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage complex hemodynamics using Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines to keep critically ill cardiac patients stable.
- Provide expert ventilator management and respiratory support for post-op and critically ill patients.
- Deliver high-acuity post-operative care for CABG and VAD patients and manage cardiac cath recovery with mechanical support devices when needed.
- Perform continuous assessment, prioritize interventions, and apply strong critical thinking in emergent situations.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, perfusion, respiratory therapy and surgical teams — to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document care accurately in Meditech and complete timely order entry to ensure continuity and safety.
- Maintain ACLS/BLS readiness and respond effectively to codes and rapid responses.
Qualifications
- Active TX RN License required — no temporary licenses accepted.
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU/CVICU experience.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- NIH training required (per unit request).
- Demonstrated experience with hemodynamic monitoring, Swan-Ganz catheters, and arterial lines.
- Hands-on ventilator management experience in a critical care setting.
- Willingness to float per Methodist Floating Policy and adapt to unit needs.
Education
- Active RN licensure in Texas (TX RN License) — specialty/unit RN certification implied
Knowledge & Skills
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Swan-Ganz catheter management
- Arterial line management
- Advanced ventilator management
- Experience with IABP, Impella and ECMO (preferred)
- CRRT exposure (preferred)
- Meditech charting and order entry (preferred)
- Post-CABG and post-VAD care
- Strong critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making
