Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility needs
- Take and document vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and interdisciplinary staff
- Accurately document care and observations in resident records
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant or in long-term care is a plus
- Strong communication, empathy and teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing changes
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Ability to document care accurately and communicate with the care team
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective time management
