Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete case carts according to preference cards to ensure smooth procedures
- Scrub as the operative scrub person, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety throughout cases
- Coordinate instrumentation and supplies with Sterile Processing (SPD) and materials management
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, RNs, SPD and OR staff to anticipate needs and avoid turnover delays
- Review the daily schedule with charge nurse and SPD coordinator to identify potential scheduling issues
- Manage core communications for the department, delegate tasks, and coordinate staff breaks and lunches
- Act as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services for procurement of supplies and specialized instrumentation
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - required
- American Heart Association BLS - required
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
- On-call and weekend availability required
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across departments
- Experience with OR procedures, case cart prep, and preference card interpretation
- Familiarity with sterile processing coordination and materials management
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (or equivalent military program)

- Surgical technique and human anatomy knowledge
- Sterile technique and infection prevention practices
- Surgical instrumentation identification and handling
- Case cart preparation and preference card interpretation
- Turnover coordination and workflow optimization
- Patient safety focus and situational awareness
- Clear communication with surgeons, RNs, SPD, and materials management
