Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide compassionate, evidence-based care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and state practice laws
• Document patient care accurately and timely according to standards of care
• Perform comprehensive assessments, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Develop and execute individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family education
• Participate in department performance improvement activities and shared governance to improve patient outcomes
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Use critical thinking to proactively address patient safety and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Engage in the professional nursing continuum, unit practice activities, and peer review processes

Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• NIHSS required
• TNCC or TNS required (one of the two acceptable)
• Experience working as an Emergency Room RN (posting requests an experienced ER RN)
• Ability to work mid and night shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills

• Medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
• Clinical documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Care planning using the nursing process
