Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays — Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12); Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12). Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday for days, Friday/Saturday for nights). NO CALL. Rotating holidays.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care to adult CVICU patients, including post-op cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure cases
- Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpret Swan-Ganz/PA line data to guide treatment decisions
- Manage ventilators and care for complex ventilated patients, including ABG interpretation and HFNC management
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias; initiate appropriate interventions
- Care for patients on mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, VAD) and assist with device management
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and emergency medications safely
- Document thoroughly in Epic and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Support family education, discharge planning, and transitional care for high-acuity cardiac patients
- Float to equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed while maintaining high standards of care
Qualifications
- Current RN license (Ohio or compact state) — active and in good standing
- 2 years of Cardiac ICU / CVICU experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and other cardiac certifications preferred
- Proven experience with Epic charting (Epic experience REQUIRED)
- Comfortable with advanced monitoring: Swan-Ganz/PA lines, arterial lines, central lines
- Skilled in ventilator management, IV starts, blood product administration, and titration of cardiac drips
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, VAD) strongly preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and float within the hospital system
Knowledge & Skills
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (Swan-Ganz/PA line)
- Cardiac telemetry and 12-lead ECG interpretation
- Ventilator management and respiratory support modalities (BiPAP/CPAP/HFNC)
- Epic electronic charting proficiency
- IV therapy, central line and PICC management, arterial line care
- Management of IABP, Impella, VADs, and familiarity with ECMO care
- CRRT/CVVHD experience and management for renal support
- Acute post-op cardiac care (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR)
- Dysrhythmia recognition and emergency response
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education skills
