Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support meal service and document intake per facility guidelines
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection-control practices
- Build positive relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
- Accurately complete required documentation and handoff reports at shift change
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience or training in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Knowledge of basic resident care and safety protocols
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with residents and team
- Basic infection control and safe patient handling techniques
